I've been working on a Horror Time-Line for a while placing events from my favorite horror movies into a historical sequence by date. Recently, I posted it to my website (don't worry, I won't ask you to go see it), and I thought I'd add the events from "Dark Shadows" and "Kolchak: The Night Stalker." For "DS," I didn't want to use the airdates as physical dates because several episodes are supposedly occurring in the same day, which condenses the series a bunch. Fortunately, the DS Wikia has a daily timeline of the events in the series, and that's where I started.
Victoria's arrival - I first placed this on June 27, 1966, but this interfered with the October 26, 1967 as indicated in Episode 189. Using that date and working backward, Victoria actually arrives in Collinsport on September 9, 1967. Bill Malloy drowns on September 13, Laura arrives September 30, Barnabas arrives November 5 and Victoria disappears from the séance on January 26, 1968.
1765 Story-Line - When Vicki arrives, she is told the date is November 25, 1795. This would mean she returns to her own time on January 5, 1796. Unfortunately, there must be several additional days because Nathan Forbes died on March 31, 1796 a few days prior. Vicki actually returns home on April 1, 1969.
1967-1968 Events - According to the series, Vicki returns back just a few minutes after she vanished on January 26, 1968, but this just doesn't line up with Episode 671, when Elizabeth mentions her February 28 birthday. Working backward from that day, she actually returns on November 24, 1968 which suggests that like the 1990s Revival, they kept Phyllis Wick alive for most of a year. From that date, Angelique returns on December 1, the Dream Curse begins December 3, Adam wakes December 9, Eve is created January 14, Quentin's ghost appears January 29 and Barnabas uses the I-Ching on February 18, 1968.
1896 Events - Apparently, there are no dates to date the 1897 events, but using the initial airdate Barnabas arrives on March 23, announces himself on March 24, Angelique appears on March 30, Laura appears on April 3, Petofi appears on April 26, Kitty Soames arrives on May 8 and Barnabas traveling back to the night of March 15, 1796 on May 20, 1896.
1969 Events - Again, there are no dates to set these events, but starting with an air date of November 19, 1969, it means Barnabas was in the past for two years unless a better reference is found. Otherwise, this could be back-dated to a more believable November 19, 1968. If we opt with November 1969 per Petofi's dialogue in Episode 313, Paul Stoddard returns Nov 21, Quentin returns Nov 25, Jeb appears Dec 4, Barnabas becomes a vampire once more on Dec 9, the Parallel Time Room is discovered on December 15 and he enters it December 19.
1970 PT - Presuming the Collinwood in the alternate reality has the same calendar, Barnabas meets Willie on Dec 20, Alexis arrives Dec 22, Longwoth becomes John Yaeger on Dec 24, Julia arrives Jan 9 and she and Barnabas are sent to the future on Jan 13, 1970.
1995 Events - There are no dates for this future, but the airdate suggests they arrive July 17, 1995 and depart on July 18, 1995.
1970 Events - There are no dates to set these events, but the airdate would suggest July 31, 1970, which means they've been missing seven months since December 1969. Following events place Quentin meeting Daphne's ghost August 3, the plans for the stairway found Aug 6, David and Hallie doing the ritual on August 12 and Julia going in back in time on August 14.
1840 Events - The airdate would suggest Julia appears on September 28, 1840. Barnabas joins her September 30, Desmond arriving with the head October 2, Angelique arriving on October 7,Judah possessing Gerard on October 9, Quentin framed October 11, Angelique lifting the curse October 19 and Barnabas confessing his love to Angelique on October 28.
Return to the Present - It can be guessed that Barnabas, Julia and Stokes return to January 27, 1971. They have been missing for five months.
