Here's another little piece of poetry.
Laura Collins[]
To Collinsport comes one from past,
One who could tell the truth.
But she does seek her son at last,
And fights with nail and tooth.
Her entrance causes strife and fear,
And makes a few men doubt.
Roger and Sam are scared that here
The truth at last will out.
Though they are worried and upset,
That’s not Laura’s desire.
Though she and Burke have often met,
She’s more obsessed with fire.
Laura comes back to claim her son,
But David is afraid.
Through clever ways of spells and fun,
The trap for him is laid.
Liz Stoddard tries to block her goals,
But falls into a trance.
Though stress seems to have claimed a toll,
The truth’s not at a glance.
Though deemed insane for many years,
Laura has evil powers.
Losing her son is what she fears,
And that thought ever tow’rs.
The trance is caused by evil ways;
Laura will see success!
Though Liz in bed unmoving lays,
Laura will not confess.
When all seems to be going well,
A new man comes to stay.
Guthrie comes to see why Liz fell
So ill, and in what way.
Since Laura cannot stand his search,
She blinds him while he drives.
She curses him from her dark perch,
And ever shuts his eyes.
The doctor held a séance there,
To contact ghost of past.
When Laura’s plans begin to tear,
She must move rather fast.
She calls her son to burning shack,
And summons him to there.
David chooses life o’er its lack
And escapes from her snare.
A daunting tale, a few can tell,
And all do know what’s true.
She was a phoenix, cruel and fell;
Into the flames she flew.
Eternal health, eternal life.
The phoenix is reborn!
She will return to cause more strife,
And for that fact, we mourn.
