The Rover Boys was a series of children's adventure books that Roger Collins enjoyed as a child. Roger's copies of the books were kept in the basement of Collinwood for over twenty years until his sister Elizabeth tried to interest his son David in the series in 1967. David was uninterested at first, but changed his mind a few days later, and told his tutor Victoria Winters that the Rover Boys books were in a carton in the basement (6, 38).
