Tate's creation was an unnamed man who came into existence after being drawn by Charles Delaware Tate in 1897.
Charles, having become convinced that he had created Amanda Harris in 1895, decided to test his theory by drawing a man. The man came into being in front of Charles and Amanda causing Amanda to run away, terrified.(842). Charles tried to destroy him by tearing up his drawing but his attempt was unsuccessful. Amanda returned to Charles's studio with Tim Shaw. Charles tried to hide his creation but Tim discovered him and took him back to his room at the Collinsport Inn.
