I'm wondering if this page needs to be altered somehow. It seems as though it is attempting to explain the overall time spent during the series rather that how many episodes equals a single day in Dark Shadows. I am by no means an editor let alone someone who could go about trying to change the detailed work that is already in place (and I mean detailed, Bravo to whoever sat down to figure this out) but I thought that I might put it out there. If its just me who sees this then by all means ignore me, but I wanted to see if anyone else delt the same.

Thank you for your kind words. It took me a little over 18 months to work it all out. I certainly enjoyed re-watching all the episodes in order to do so!
As you suggest, my aim is to show how many episodes equals a single day. There are 455 on-screen days here, however this doesn't nessercary mean that the entire series takes place over 455 consecutive days. A week of off-screen time may pass between one on-screen 'day' and the next. I decided not to note here when an on-screen day follows consecutively, feeling it would make the page too complicated.
It is also worth bearing this in mind, quoted from 419:
It's standard practice for soap operas to sync the in-narrative dates with the broadcast dates. They never match up naturally, for several reasons: First, a single day of story time often lasts for several broadcast episodes, and second, daytime soaps broadcast five days a week. It's very common for soap opera characters to celebrate Christmas morning, change their clothes during lunch, and celebrate New Year's Eve that same night. The viewers are not supposed to take these dates literally.
Although nothing quite as incongruous as this happened in the series, DS was far from a 'normal' soap opera in many respects, there are occasionally certain inconsistencies that simply have to be discounted as continuity errors for a page like this to make sense.

By using this informative timeline, has anyone figured out the month and day that Victoria arrived at Collinwood in episode 1....did she arrive in June or September?68.224.197.42 06:15, April 20, 2017 (UTC)

If we use the information provided in this timeline then a date of September 8, 1967 would be the latest possible point episode 1 could take place. 82.42.195.196 15:04, April 20, 2017 (UTC)
