Roger Davis (b. April 5, 1939) joined Dark Shadows in January 1968 playing Peter Bradford, the lawyer who fell in love with Victoria Winters in 1796. He went on to play Jeff Clark, Ned Stuart, Dirk Wilkins and Charles Delaware Tate, appearing in a total of 128 episodes. He has been generally disliked by Dark Shadows fans for his tendency to get too physical onscreen with female actors, and also proved unpopular with most of his co-stars (Lara Parker being a notable exception).[1]

Jon Roger Davis was born in Louisville, Kentucky. Before Dark Shadows, Roger Davis had played the role of Roger Gibson in The Gallant Men and done some other television work. While he was a member of the Dark Shadows repertory company, Davis married actress Jaclyn Smith, whom Dan Curtis wanted to join the company as a new character to replace the space left by Alexandra Moltke once it became apparent that the audience would accept no other actress in the role of Victoria Winters (the couple later divorced). Smith later became best known for her role in Charlie's Angels with future Dark Shadows cast member Kate Jackson. Thayer David also appeared on one episode of Charlie's Angels.

After Dark Shadows, Roger Davis appeared in many other television shows, most notably Alias Smith and Jones (both as the series narrator and replacing actor Pete Duel as "Smith" after Duel's death mid-production). He is currently retired from acting and works as a real estate developer in California.
