Paul married into the wealthy Collins family and lived at Collinwood with his wife Elizabeth. He once commissioned Sam Evans to paint a portrait of him in the style and size of the Jeremiah painting hanging above the Collinwood mantle. The portrait was never begun, despite a few preliminary sketches by Sam (42).
He later married Elizabeth Stoddard the resigning priest was Judge Crathorne and Elizabeth had a handkerchief during their wedding (271). After the marriage, he moved to Collinwood and during that time he invited Jason McGuire to stay with them who was surprised when he heard of the marriage because he thought that Paul Stoddard wasn't a man of marriage.(202) he later had a daughter named Carolyn Stoddard born on July 16, 1946 (267).1949, Paul walked out on Elizabeth, Elizabeth remained on the Collinwood grounds for eighteen years, supposedly waiting for him to return (5). In fact, she believed she had murdered him due to what his devious friend, Jason McGuire, told her. Elizabeth had attacked Paul with a poker that stunned him. Jason told her that Paul was killed and he made it look that he buried his body and belongings in a locked room in the basement of Collinwood. Paul and Jason left Collinsport to start life somewhere else
In 1969, Paul did return to Collinwood after 20 years (888). He also learned at that time the details of a pact he had made for wealth with beings he now knew were demons. His deal with Mr. Strak was for 20 years of good luck and fortune in exchange for his most precious possession. The Leviathans were coming to collect payment for his good fortune—his daughter Carolyn (900). Attempting to stop this plot, he was killed (933).
