Mrs Pettibone was a wealthy, elderly matron who lived in Collinsport, Maine in 1970. In June of that year, Mrs Pettibone attended a costume ball hosted at Collinwood in honour of the arrival of the arrival of Barnabas Collins. At first, she was reluctant to attend, due to a string of recent attacks that had taken place in the neighbourhood, but she made an exception when it came to the prestigious Collins family.
