The minister presided over the funeral of Carolyn Stoddard at the private cemetery owned by the Collins family. As Carolyn’s body was taken into the crypt of the family mausoleum, the minister concluded his service with a reading from the twenty-third Psalm.
Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil – for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff – they comfort me; Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; Thou anointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over; Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life; And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Notes Edit

  • The minister was never provided with a proper name in either the movie or the novelization. Given director Dan Curtis’ penchant for recycling characters, actors and, names, it would come as no surprise if it were revealed that the minister’s surname was Trask.
