Jerry Lacy was born Gerald LeRoy Lacy on March 27, 1936 in Sioux City, Iowa. He played Tony Peterson, Reverend Trask, Reverend Gregory Trask, Mr Trask, and Lamar Trask on the original Dark Shadows. He also played the Minister who conducted Carolyn's funeral service in House of Dark Shadows. Jerry's involvement with the show began when he co-starred with David Ford and Nancy Barrett in regional theatre. The couple (who were at the time husband-and-wife) became friends with Lacy and recommended him for a role on the show. He appeared in 110 episodes.

Perhaps his best-known role is that of the ghost of Humphrey Bogart in Woody Allen's Play it Again, Sam. Jerry's resemblance to the famous movie icon made him the perfect choice. Jerry Lacy's character of Tony Peterson was clearly molded after Bogart characters. He also appeared in numerous commercials as Bogart (one with fellow Dark Shadows alum Marie Wallace). Jerry also appears in the title role in the movie The Thousand and One Lives of Dr. Mabuse.

Jerry has been married to actress Julia Duffy since 1984, and they have two children: Daniel (1989-2019) and Kerry.

As well as appearing in many of the Dark Shadows audios from Big Finish Productions, in 2016 Jerry wrote his own story, Trask the Exorcist, which featured in the collection Echoes of the Past.
