François Nicole
François Nicole was a French artisan living in Boston in the year 1790. Barnabas Collins commissioned François to create an elaborate music box for him. Barnabas planned on giving it to his true love, Josette DuPres. The witch known as Angelique ensorcelled François and placed a curse on the music box. Barnabas eventually gave the music box to Josette, who began to suffer from horrifying nightmares in which she saw her own death.
