Chris was a policeman. In 1967, he was instructed by Sheriff Patterson to follow Sam Evans, who at the time was under suspicion of being involved in a failed hit and run attempt against Victoria Winters. Sam claimed to have instead drove to a remote part of the beach in order to get inspiration for his next painting. (107) The real culprit was later revealed to be Collinwood caretaker Matthew Morgan who suspected Victoria knew too much about his involvement in the murder of Bill Malloy. (108)
