Bob O'Connell played the bartender Bob Rooney at The Blue Whale and the innkeeper Mr. Mooney at The Eagle. O'Connell went uncredited for most of his appearances in the show and only had a few speaking parts.

Speaking parts[]

In episode 2, while on the phone to the sheriff's office to report the fight that has just broken out, the bartender identifies himself as "Joe": "Hello, Harry? This is Joe. Better send the sheriff over. He needs to break it up again."

In episode 156, the phone rings at the Blue Whale and he says, "Yeah Jan, yeah, hold on," and, "Miss Stoddard, there's a phone call for you. You can take it here at the bar."

In episode 186, the bartender tells Joe Haskell that he has a phone call.

In episode 270, the bartender talks to Carolyn Stoddard, who's drowning her sorrows over her mother's upcoming wedding.

In episode 319, Sheriff Patterson and Sam Evans approaches the bar and Sam appears to be drunk. The bartender says, "All right to serve him sheriff?" After Sheriff Patterson answers, Bob Rooney asked, "Anything new on that attack last night, sheriff?" Again, after Sheriff Patterson answers, Bob Rooney replies, "You mean you haven't got the slightest clue as to who the guy could be?" After Sheriff Patterson answers, Bob says, "Well, you better come up with something real fast, the people are beginning to panic." After Sam Evans says implies something about the case, Bob Rooney asked, "What is he talking about?" After the sheriff tries to blow off the comment, Bob Rooney says, "He sounds as if you're onto something." The sheriff repeats himself and Bob says, Yeah, that's what you said." And there are a few more lines in this episode, while Willey Loomis watches and listens to every word they say.

In episode 319, Sheriff Patterson tells the bartender to forget what Sam Evans said. The bartender says, "Okay," and then returns to silence.

O'Connell also has a speaking part as the Eagle bartender in episode 419, in a scene with Nathan Forbes. This is also a rare episode in which O'Connell's name appears in the end credits.
