Addison Powell (February 23, 1921- November 8, 2010) was an American actor who was best known for playing the voice of Jeremiah Collins' ghost, Eric Lang, Judge Matigan, and Judge Wiley on Dark Shadows. His movie roles included Abe in The Thomas Crown Affair, Leonard Atwood in Three Days on the Condor, and Admiral Chester W. Nimitz in MacArthur. He also appeared in the first season of Law and Order and The Mod Squad. Powell had three children with his wife Bunnie, who was married to from 1950 until her death in 1995. On Dark Shadows, he was known for constantly shouting his lines, reading the teleprompter, making bizarre hand gestures, and generally putting in over-the-top, scenery-chewing performances that were even crazier than Grayson Hall's acting approach.
