This time, during the narration, we see the werewolf. We also seem to see Barnabas in the mirror very briefly. Reprise. Two dots are on Beth’s neck. Beth tells him about the curse and Quentin and that Magda is responsible. She tells him that Magda didn’t believe that it was in self defense that Quentin killed Jenny: NOR DO I! Beth tells Barnabas about Mrs. Filmore and the children. Quentin left two years ago. Barnabas wants to see to it that Quentin will live. Beth says, “I don’t understand you.” Barnabas asks if she trusts him and she says, “I don‘t know.” In time, he says she will. Barnabas wants to know, most of all, not how this will all end but when it will. He leaves. Beth has a pentagram. Outside, Magda has a gun. The wolf howls. When Judith opens the doors, Magda has already hidden the gun in a stone vase near the doors. Judith wants to stop Magda from coming in but also tries to warn her about being outside. Magda says, “I’m not afraid.” Magda vs Judith. On a vase is a person’s face it seems. When Judith will not let her in, Magda breaks into the drawing room. We hear the wolf howl. Magda listens to Beth and Barnabas talk. Barnabas leaves.

Tim stops and follows Evan’s orders. Beth calls Evan. Judith slightly overhears some of Beth’s conversation. Beth lies to her about a cousin of her’s. There is a flub over the two weeks. Mrs. Filmore called this morning; the boy child has a fever. Judith was going to tell Quentin about the children, maybe the responsibility will change him. Beth always wanted to tell Quentin about the children but asks her not to now. Judith agrees. Something is moving behind Beth. Beth leaves and we hear the wolf sound. Beth voice over. Barnabas comes to Collinwood and hears the werewolf. It was last month that Dorcas was killed. Barnabas has to close the doors twice. The mirror shakes. Magda has seen the wolfman behind the gates and at the Old House. Young Ezra Braithwaite calls and tells him that Beth Chavez ordered the pentagram and charged it to Quentin Collins. Barnabas tells Ezra he will be a fine addition to his father’s firm. Barnabas voice over. Judith has the police sending men to Collinwood to hunt for the animal. Beth left Collinwood an hour ago. Beth has been at Collinwood for two years now. She came from Collinsport. Judith has found out, as has the family that it doesn’t pay to be interested in servants, “We’ve found that out in this house.” Barnabas has his cane but Judith worries if he goes outside to hunt for the animal.

Judith asks Tim about Rachel. Just as the Queen of Spades comes up in Judith’s card playing, a gunshot is heard. Barnabas comes back and thinks a bullet was put into the chest of the animal.
