Synopsis

Beth mentions Judith is searching for Jenny. Judith has already searched the West Wing and is now searching the East Wing. Barnabas discovers Dirk outside, and he lies, claiming that Jamison is missing. Barnabas claims there is no way for the boy to get into the cellar and that the door to it was locked.

Memorable quotes

  • Beth: What worries me most is someone else discovering Jenny.
  • Barnabas (to Quentin): Your welfare happens to be very important to me.
  • Barnabas: I intend to stay at Collinwood. (he means the Old House which is on the grounds?)
  • Barnabas (to Quentin but about Angelique): She is a friend of no man.

  • Beth: I was walking through the woods...
  • Quentin: on your way to grandma's house and lo and behold but who should you meet but the big, bad wolf.
  • Beth: I have to get back to Collinwood.
  • Dirk (about Jamison): They may have found her by now.
  • Dirk: Come ahead.

Dramatis personae

Background information and notes

Bloopers and continuity errors

  • The narration seems to think the mad woman can change the course of history.
  • Barnabas has a new robe. Where did he get it?
  • Dirk's moustache looks different in every episode.
  • Beth flubs.
  • Barnabas looks out the window and there are loud noises we hear that seem to come from inside the house. He does not react at all. He goes to the door to find Dirk searching.
  • Dirk and Frid seem to have forgotten the script and their lines and both muddle through. It works. Dirk says, of the search for JamIson, "Maybe they've found HER by now." Barnabas does not react to the "HER" but maybe it is due to the fact that he already thinks it is one big lie.
  • More flubs: Dirk gives in to Barnabas wanting to help search for Jamison (in reality it is Jenny missing) and he says, "Come ahead."
