- Barnabas Collins, Dr. Julia Hoffman, and Professor T. Eliot Stokes emerge from the stairway into time to find that Collinwood had not been destroyed. Although they do not see anyone from the family right away, Elizabeth Collins Stoddard soon enters the drawing room, chastising the group for being late to the opening of a new historical center in Collinsport. Elizabeth confirms, although confused by her friends' questions, that David Collins, Hallie Stokes, Quentin Collins, and Carolyn Stoddard Hawkes are all alive and well. Elizabeth states that it had been a peaceful winter. Barnabas and Julia discuss recent events, and Julia assures him that they would never forget anyone from 1840 (1198).
