Synopsis
- My name is Victoria Winters. From the moment I arrived at Collinwood, I've been surrounded by tension. And now the band has grown tighter, until the great, dark house seems alive with ghosts of a past I never knew—ghosts that draw tight fingers around the present.
Roger is cold to Burke and angles to get alone with him. Burke reminds Roger that Roger and [Laura], with whom he used to run, got married the day after Burke was convicted and immediately moved to Augusta. Roger refuses to tell where his wife is. Matthew tells Vicki that Roger returned to Collinwood a month ago (May 1966), and that it was the worst thing ever to happen to Collinwood. Matthew warns Vicki not to snoop around Liz, then tells her that she should go to Augusta to look for clues to her past rather than Bangor. Vicki, after being expelled by Matthew, finds Burke with a wrench (which he claims he found on the front seat) in the garage. He claims to be admiring Roger’s car because he’s planning on buying a similar model (with different upholstery). Roger decides to meet with Burke. Vicki worries about Roger’s travelling plans. Liz tells Vicki that Matthew is devoted, strange...and gets violent when he believes Liz is in trouble.
Roger’s Wife still hasn’t been named on screen. That's why the notation [Laura] continues to be used.
