General Discussion
I just recently retired and found out that the entire series of Dark shadows is available for viewing on Tubi. This is awesome for me since there were many episodes I missed, including the later seasons which were filmed in color. I kind of wished they had a chatroom availble since it would be kind of cool to talk to other DS fans. At least I have time now to view the *entire series.

The fire that destroyed the set of the old house; or when ABC threw the set out and burned it: Twice in the interviews there is mention of this misfortunate event and how they had to write the storyline to avoid the Old House for a month until it was rebuilt. Lela Swift mentions it, and so does one of the actors, though I can't remember now who brings it up. Does anyone know exactly when during the series this happened?
I’m surprised that there has not been discussion here about the news that a reboot of the series is likely to happen. The rights of the show are held by Dan Curtis daughters Tracy and Cathy. Tracy Curtis started a production company called Amasia Entertainment. Bradley Gallo is their President and he will be working to develop the show for another generation of viewers. I think that the fact that Tracy and Brad have the reboot of Dark Shadows as part of projects for the company is very exciting!! I hope we hear more soon. If you know about more information on this, please post it.
i have purchased the complete series and am thoroughly enjoying. Jonothan Frid was a amazing Shakespearean actor and adds so much to the character. Was only 8 when the series aired so was not allowed to watch at the time but am so glad with technology they can bring back such wonderful depiction of a lonely vampires vampire story with so much drama intrigue etc.
Hi, folks! As a new fan of Dark Shadows who loves to discuss mutual interests with people, I decided to start my own discussion. :)
I'm curious as to what my fellow Dark Shadows fans consider to be their most memorable moments from the show. When I say "memorable moments," I'm referring to specific scenes that stood out and left a lasting impression. These scenes can be sad, funny, disturbing, exciting, you name it. They could have elicited any emotional response. I'm just looking for memorable.
So, fellow Dark Shadows fans, what say you? What scenes from the show have stuck with you?
Seems like every year or every other year Warner Bros. releases a new DTV Scooby-Doo animated movie. Which gives me an idea? Why not make one that crosses over with Dark Shadows? As far as I know WB still owns the rights to make new Dark Shadows adaptations, so this would be a perfect fit.
I'm guessing most everyone already knows this but for those who may not....Amazon Prime has several collections, what they are referring to as "seasons", available to watch for free. They also apprear to have the rest (possibly) available at $1.99 an episode. Again, just wanted mention it for those who may not be aware. Happy watching!

I (originally) cut it to 15 because it's such a large cast that the list could go on and on, so I chose who I thought were the most important 15. I also made my list based not just on how many episodes each actor/actress was in, but how important their roles were and how many roles they played. So for instance, I included Michael Stroka, but didn't include Robert Rodan, even though Robert Rodan featured in more episodes, because I felt Michael Stroka's roles were more important, plus Robert Rodan only had the one role. BUT if anyone thinks someone should be included who isn't, feel free to include them in your lists!
And obviously, you don't have to do both lists if you don't want – I'm straight, so for the actresses, I just picked objectively who I thought was the prettiest. But if you'd rather only do one or the other, just go ahead! :)
Just a note to explain: although I don't find everyone on the lists attractive (I only consider the top 5 genuinely hot...especially the truly perfect David Selby...), I just got the main 15 actors and actresses, and took an "if you had to choose" approach to organise the others -- though you can do it any way you want. If you don't want to use this list of main actors/actresses and instead want to make a list of the ones you found genuinely attractive only, just do what you feel.
Can anyone tell me where the list of episodes by actor is? I believe I found that information here a while back but now I can't seem to find it. Thanks! JJ
With the success of Twin Peaks - The Return it would be great if we could see a reboot of Dark Shadows Hopefully enough time has passed for folks to forget about the horrendous Tim Burton film that turned our beloved series into a joke!! I would love to see a reboot that brought a great quality to the original series but still honored the great characters and atmosphere of Collinwood....
The DS FAQ is a labor of love that was started by a few long time fans in 1993, and reached it's culmination in 1996.
It was complied from various online message boards like: Prodigy, AOL , alt.tv.dark-shadows, plus user, book, and actors input.
The current version: DS-v109, used to reside for many years at http://mrjuggins.tripod.com/index-bk2.html, but sadly the only part of the FAQ left there is the TOC (The FAQ was 5 sections long).
In 1994, I vowed that I would make shure that anybody who wanted the DS FAQ, would have access to it. I hosted it on many personal sites, but I think the DS Wiki should host a copy of it.
I'll also send .zip copies to anyone who requests it, but I don't come here often. Just hit me up on twitter: @mikepellerin
This photo was just found at the Library of Congress, said to be that of Clarice Blackburn:
