With the success of Twin Peaks - The Return it would be great if we could see a reboot of Dark Shadows Hopefully enough time has passed for folks to forget about the horrendous Tim Burton film that turned our beloved series into a joke!! I would love to see a reboot that brought a great quality to the original series but still honored the great characters and atmosphere of Collinwood....

If it were to be done on The CW, then it would be best for them to wait for Supernatural to eventually come to a close (or at least start to wind down). I think The CW would allow it to have the most breathing room and have a seasonal run that rivals the original (6 tv seasons); potentially even becoming The CW's next Supernatural b/c of all the characters & stories that could be explored from new and previously existing ideas.

Well, these websites are superb. I was watching shows by Andy Yeatman on Netflix but then he stopped working with it and the new content isn’t that great. His content was entertaining and knowledgeable. However, I wonder what I will do without these shows now. It was nice coming across this post.

I'd like to see the show return in the same soap opera format and recreation of the iconic sets. It should just pick up in the present day with a new generation, new stories, and maybe a return of interested original actors, reprising their now elderly characters, rather than replacing them. The original format made it a much more personal show, the visaul style of the soap format, and the ever present troup of actors that play many parts. After a time, those actors on the original show began to feel almost like family.
Since after the 1840 story line, and the return to normal time in 1970, events after 1840 could have been altered in many ways not immediately noticeable--which could have opened up more story possibilities in all time lines, had the show been allowed to continue.

I would loved the idea that posters said about calling it Collinwood with some of the original characters reprising their roles. I would love to see Jeremy Irons take over a Barnabas-type role. Have Netflix produce it.

It's coming to the CW unfortunately. It's called Dark Shadows with an added word, which I forgot. Generations? Resurrection? It's in the works.
